The AC-7 Core Mini is the baby of the family. It runs on iPhones and iPod Touches running iOS4.2 or higher, connecting to the host computer via wi-fi. It connects with OS X natively using the new CoreMIDI framework of iOS4.2, and with Windows using solutions such as Tobias Erichsen’s “rtpMIDI” driver.

The 1TRK screen is where most work is done. In the top display area, the current track is indicated by an orange box. To switch to a different track, touch the desired area of the display.

The FADERS screen gives quick access to 8 channel faders and one master fader. If you switch to Pro Tools Mode, the master fader becomes a jog/pan sensitivity control. Move this up to make jog/pan moves happen quicker, down for slow and precise.

The TRANSP screen provides access to the REC, SOLO, MUTE and SELECT buttons for each track. There’s also a MODE button to select the current DAW mode, a RESET button, and two buttons for FADER MODE. Use QUICK for fast fader movements, and PRECISE for umm... precise ones.

The JOG/CUR screen has a cursor section with zoom button, and a jog wheel with scrub.

The ADV1 and ADV2 screens provide access to advanced functions which change depending on which DAW you’re working with. The exact functions are generally found in your DAW’s manual under “Mackie Control”.
